Chasing Footsteps
"Chasing Footsteps" By: Jessa Mariz C. Manalansan The history of one's life is not seen through the crown and sash he wore, not by the gold, silver, bronze medals he got, and not by the trophy he had won but with the footsteps he left behind. Before, I was fond of other's footsteps. I even chased and traced it, like a slave to his masters. I even drawn my own footsteps the way others drawn themselves but fortunately, it didn't turn out the way I expected and wanted. Then one night, in our backyard I heard my own self complaining "For almost a decade and eight, I copy and traced the footsteps of others, I think I deserved a hundred percent break". So I decided to sit on the ground then realization hit me. I became blind on what people say to me, I care about what they are going to think about me and I care on they're expectations of me. I'm not a caring type of person but in that topic I really care.
